Halstead’s Andy Owen continued to stake his claim for the clubs annual ‘International Runner Of The Year’ award as he competed in New Zealand’s Paihia Off Road Half Marathon. The 13.1 off road course took in stunning scenery including the Waitangi and Harura bush trails, passing waterfalls and bays. Andy finished in 1:38.

Closer to home, Stewart Ellis’ recent form continues to impress as he ran in the in the second race of the popular Friday 5 Summer series. Starting at Kirton, Felixstowe, Stewart finished the hilly course in 30:27 to claim 28th place overal and 5th in his age category.

Charlotte May along with Chris and Carol Hill ran in Sunday’s inaugural Dedham Vale Vineyard 10k. The unique event offers competitors wine tasting along the course and at the finish line. All 3 finished not concerned about time and slightly less sober than when they started.

Seasoned Park Runner Julia Woolnough chose the Harwich Event on Saturday morning. With the sound of the sea lapping beside her Julia finished the 5k course in 25:57.

Rounding off yet another hectic weekend for Halstead’s Road Runners, Mararhon legend Andy Wilmot tackled the Stour Valley Marathon in beautiful conditions on Sunday, finishing in 5:07.
