This Sunday saw the inaugural “The Big Half’ Half Marathon in London. Run by the organisers of the London Marathon, the 13.1 mile course which starts from Tower Bridge and finishes at the Cutty Sark, was a popular choice for both amateur and professional athletes alike. With over fourteen thousand athletes taking part including Mo Farah and Callum Hawkins. Flying the flag for Halstead Road Runner’s; Wes Atkins put in a sterling performance after qualifying to enter the event under the ‘good for age’ category. Coming home in 1 hour and 27 minutes.
