Five Halstead Road Runners were among the 452 finishers in the Essex 20 Mile Championships which was held in un-seasonally warm conditions on an undulating course around Langham. It was a tough race but great preparation for the forthcoming London Marathon in April and the 20th Anniversary Halstead Marathon in May, which will incorporate the Essex Championships.
Glynn Stone finished 139th in 2 hours 40 minutes 30 seconds, Neil Poulter 157th in 2:43:48, Mike Grealy 174th in 2:46:00, Jim Clark 303rd in 3:07:43 and Lorraine Garnham 310th in 3:08:27
Matthew Ranson made the short trip to Gt Cornard near Sudbury for the Gt Cornard Parkrun. Matthew clocked 20:45 this week! An improvement on last weeks time at least. This is part of a national 5k public running event, which take place weekly on Saturdays at 9am. The events are FREE to enter and volunteer helpers are always welcomed
