Following the cancellation of Southend Marathon, Andy Wilmot and Dan Smith decided to do the Thaxted trail marathon finishing the muddy, hilly course – which actually measured just over 27 miles – in 5 hours and 40 minutes. They were rewarded for their efforts with a bottle of wine rather than the usual medal. Richard Tiller did the half marathon option, again slightly over at 14 miles, finishing in 2 hours and 38 minutes.

Maurice Young completed the Bedford Autodrome Sprint Duathlon in 1.40.20 knocking 6 minutes off his time from last year.
