The weekend started at the Felixstowe Friday 5 at Kirton. Wes Atkins and Stewart Ellis both ran fantastic pbs on the multi-terrain course breaking the 30 minute barrier. Wes finished in 29:16 knocking 45 seconds off his previous best with Stewart seconds behind in 29:24.
On Saturday Sam Wolton made his annual visit to the Dartmoor ultra marathon. He covered the 34 mile distance in 7 hours and 1 minute.
There was a small contingent of Road Runners at the Stour Valley Marathon on Sunday. The humid weather made the going tough on the beautiful but challenging course. Rob Frost was first back for the club in 14th place overall and a time of 4:07. For John Warne it was his 4th marathon in as many weeks. He managed to stick with club mate Andy Wilmot for the duration. They crossed the line in 5:25. Sandi Robinson-Miller suffered in the conditions recording a slower time than last year. However, she was happy to finish in 5:52.
Axel Voigt did the Derby Half Marathon in 2 hours 26 minutes.
Charlotte May did some parkrun tourism during a mini break at Mersea Island. She came 2nd in her age category in 30:24.
