Dan Smith took another step towards his 100th marathon on Thursday racing at the 2012 Olympic rowing venue at Dorney Lake. The course offered no shade and claimed a number of casualties due to the heat. However, seasoned marathoner Smith finished in 4 hours 52 minutes.

There were a couple of 10k races on offer on Sunday. Rachael Roughan did the Hatfield Forest 10k finishing in a time of 47.34 and 5th female. Meanwhile Treena Harrington did the Steeple Bumpstead 10k in 57.38.

On the hottest day of the year Andy Kemp had his first go at an Olympic Distance Triathlon at Fritton Lake near Great Yarmouth. The race consisted of a 1,500m swim in the lake followed by a 2 lap 40k bike ride and a 3 lap 10k run. Kemp completed the course in a total time of 2 hours and 52 minutes.
