Halstead Road Runners Weekend Race Result
Halstead’s Stewart Ellis’ fine form continued on Sunday at Cambridge’s 10k Bonfire Burn. Ellis running strongly in a field of over 1000 athletes finished just outside the top 10 in 13th place with a time of 38:34. New member Danny Hewitt also put in a fine performance picking up a PB of 45:49
Halstead ladies Hazel Buist and Nia Fortuna also chose the 10k distance with both running in Billericay on Sunday. Hazel Buist finishing in 49:55 and Nia Fortuna in 63:09
Bradley Doe chose a slightly different event on Sunday choosing the ‘Nuclear Fallout’ 16k assault course. This extreme assault course includes obstacles such as tyre pits, hay walls, zip wires, water slides, bomb holes, cargo nets and monkey bars to name a few. Bradley finished this ultra tough event 13th overall in 1:54:21
Marathon Legend Andy Wilmott ran just the 2 marathons this weekend. The 70 year old veteran continues to amaze and impress with his stamina and fitness levels.
He tackled the Thames Meander Marathon on Saturday in a time of 4:02, then on Sunday it was the Stevenage Marathon in a time of 4:12.
Saturday saw top 50 places for all 5 Halstead Road Runners at the Notley Park Run, times as follows
