PB’s tumble over busy weekend for Halstead Road Runners Another busy weekend for Halstead Road Runners, with athletes travelling far and wide to compete in a variety of events, with a remarkable 5 new PB’s set. Sunday saw Club Captain Kathryn Bronson and Hazel Buist compete in the Pleshy Half Marathon, near Chelmsford. Over the 13.1 mile course both ladies managed impressive new personal best times. Kathryn Bronson 1:42:35PB and Hazel Buist 1:54:11PB Sunday also saw Andy Owen and Sam Wilson travelling up the A12 for the Ipswich Half Marathon, both ever improving men recorded their own PB’s, Andy Owen 1:44:00PB and Sam Wilson 1:54:31PB Jenn Langley ran in Saturdays popular 5k Park Run series in Cornard and was delighted to see her times tumbling down with a PB of 26:26 Marathon machine Andy Wilmot, not content with running 10 marathons in 10 days ran in Surrey Tops 50 mile gruelling endurance event on Saturday. The 50 mile hilly course was no match for Wilmot who finished in 13hrs 27mins. Not bad for a 70 year old! Triathlete, Wendy Carter competed in Sundays Blackwater Triathlon in Maldon, In tough windy conditions over distances of 400m Swim, 23k Bike, 6km Run, Wendy finished in a 1:30:22 Jim Leaney travelled into the capital for the ExCel Electrodash, dressed in a pink neon morph suit with fluorescent yellow skirt, Jim completed this 5k fun event for charity.
