Victory For Ellis
Halstead Road Runner Stewart Ellis romped home to victory on Saturdays 5k Maldon Promenade Park Run. Ellis was well clear of the 160 runners to take his first ever competitive victory, finishing in 18:34. Danny Hewitt finished 15th overall in 21:32.
Saturday also marked the comeback of one of the clubs founder members, Trevor Smith. Who made his comeback at Great Notley 5k Park Run after a 20+ year absence from running. Having already battled cancer over recent years, Trevor was diagnosed with Alzheimers disease 5 years ago at the age of just 57. A former 3:20 marathon man, Trevor was able to roll back the years running the course with his son Daniel, finishing 2nd in his age category. (Pictured Dan and Trevor Smith, photo by R Atkins)

Marathon legend Andy Wilmot turned his attention to the ultra distance this weekend running in the Gatcliffe 50k. This multi terrain event was actually measured at 33.5miles, however it was no match for Wilmot who finished in 8hrs 39mins
