Sunday saw the second race in the 53-12 Cross Country League series at Abbey Fields Colchester. A record turnout of some 350+ athletes took on the 3 lap course. Halstead fielding a huge team of 29. An injury hit ladies side meant only 4 Halstead ladies competed, with Rosie Atkins and Hazel Buist counting as the scorers with very respectable runs finishing in 43rd and 51st respectively. Bradley Doe, Stewart Ellis, Stuart Prestney (pictured) and Juan De Gea were the scoring males in an ever competitive field of males. Halstead drop to 2nd overall and will look to regain top spot on the 30th of November at Chelmsford’s Highlands Park. Marathon running legend Andy Wilmot competed the LDWA Shillington Shuffle on a very cold Sunday morning finishing in 5:48

Saturday in wet muddy conditions 9 Halstead Road Runners took on the tough Notley 5k Park Run. Bradley Doe was first home for the yellows. Special mention to Jackie Sidhu and Nicole East who have been attending the very popular Saturday Beginners Group, both ran and finished in times of 32:03 and 33:06
