The Great Bentley Half Marathon is a popular race as the flat course offers excellent conditions for those hoping for a personal best. This year’s race was no exception with Rosie Atkins, Jonathan Buist, Tom Porter and Heidi Worf all improving on previous times and Wesley Atkins and Leigh-Anne Porter racing the distance for the first time.

This weekend also saw the fourth running of the Braintree Bog-gle Trail Marathon on a muddy route through the villages around the town. Sarah Frost, fast gaining a reputation as a keen off road runner, improved on her previous running of this race by 25 minutes. Andy Wilmot and Dan Smith added to their impressive tally of marathons.
