There was success for the Halstead ladies at the Good Friday Sudbury Fun run with the powerful trio of Rachael Roughan, Caroliena Cameron and Mel Candler winning the ladies’ team prize. The race was Candler’s first time over the 5 mile distance on the road meaning she also achieved a personal best giving it everything to dip under the 38 minute mark by 1 second. Leigh-Anne Porter was thrilled to go sub 40 with a personal best of 39.24.

First man back for the Road Runners was Andy Owen closely followed by Tom Porter and Jon Greenley.

Andy Wilmot and Dan Smith were racing up at Barrow near Bury St Edmunds doing a double header marathon on Good Friday and Easter Saturday. Wilmot ran 4 hours 21 minutes (day 1) and 4 hours 37 minutes (day 2). Smith ran 4 hours 22 minutes (day 1) and 5 hours 22 (day 2).

For those who enjoying running off road Easter is a busy period with the Easter Eggstravaganza Trail Race series every day over the long Bank Holiday weekend. The races have been well supported by the Road Runners. Conditions have been firm and dry underfoot with an interesting range of routes including through bluebell woods and from Andrewsfield Air field near Stebbing.
