The start and finish will be within the delightful gardens of Shrubs Farm, with extensive views over the Stour Valley. These spacious grounds are hosting the annual summer fete for the small north Essex village of Lamarsh. There will be signs out on the day directing motorists to the fete, avoiding a very narrow public lane with few passing places. The fete proper starts at 12:00 and all entertainments, including various stalls, games, a barbeque and bar, will then be available to returned runners. The fete will be a bit of old-fashioned fun suitable for all the family.
The route has been carefully chosen for clear paths, ease of navigation and scenic appeal. Other than the normal perils of cross country running, there are no particular, outstanding, risks. On the roads used there is very light traffic only.
All proceeds go to support the parish church and village hall funds.
