Saturday marked the Essex County Cross Country Championship at Woodford Green. A muddy 5 mile course for the ladies and a gruelling 7 miles for the men. Halstead Road Runners competed in a very competitive field, which boasted many county and national standard athletes. The ladies team put in an impressive performance to finish 11th out of 18, whilst unfortunately the men’s team failed to field the required 6 athletes so despite some spirited individual runs, they failed to score.
