16 Halstead Road Runners made the short trip to Colchester on Sunday for the popular Colchester Half Marathon. Starting and finishing at Colchester United’s Weston Homes Community Stadium, the event attracted a field of over 2,400 runners. Ideal weather conditions made for a fantastic morning with Debra Strong and Mel Candler making their half marathon debuts. Stuart Prestney was first home for the yellow vests in a brilliant time of 1:24:42. Juan De Gea marked his birthday with his 2nd best 13.1 mile course time in 1:28:03. Karl Hillman and Lorrain Garnham also knocked a few minutes from their previous best’s.
