Each year Halstead Road Runners donates a large percentage of the profits from the Halstead and Essex Marathon to local good causes. The charities to benefit from the money raised this year are:

It was a warm one!

Dan Smith took another step towards his 100th marathon on Thursday racing at the 2012 Olympic rowing venue at Dorney Lake. The course offered no shade and claimed a number of casualties due to the heat. However, seasoned marathoner Smith finished in 4 hours 52 minutes.
