It was beautiful weather for the penultimate 53-12 cross country fixture at Hadleigh, Suffolk yesterday. Despite recent heavy rain the course was surprisingly firm in some places compared to previous years. The organisers, Hadleigh Hares, had also added in an extra bit of steep ascent on the back hills making the course even tougher and slightly longer coming in […]
Penultimate 53-12 Cross Country Fixture
The final fixture in the Essex Cross Country League took place on Saturday at Gloucester Park in Basildon. Despite some changes to the course, runners still had to take on the notoriously big hill with the men coming off worse scaling it twice on each lap from different angles as well as negotiating an extremely steep downhill section. The […]

Conditions were extremely muddy and wet underfoot but that, and the previous night’s celebrations, didn’t deter the runners. Lizzie Griffiths made a welcome come back to do her first parkrun. Andy and Wendy Carter both finished first in their respective age categories.

Whilst conditions were bitterly cold at home this weekend, Ian Chandler headed to much warmer climes to run the Lanzarote Marathon. The route was out and back along the coastal roads and Ian said a nice way to end his running year. He completed the course in 4 hours 56 minutes (official photo).
Halstead Road Runnners were due to host […]
