The second of the Friday 5 series of races was hosted by Stowmarket Striders. The course was predominantly on road and took place in rather warm conditions. The ladies all gained podium positions in their respective age categories. Phil Jeffries reaped the benefits of his recent training with the club by knocking almost 2 minutes off his time finishing in a pb of 25.55.

At Great Cornard Kathryn Bronson was first lady in an impressive time of 22.23. Heidi Worf was also at Great Cornard for her first parkrun. Undertaking some parkrun tourism, Tom Porter was 5th overall and 1st in the VM35-39 age category at Basildon parkrun. This is the 3rd parkrun in a row where he has claimed age category honours.

Finally Heidi Worf returned to St Albans on Sunday – the venue for her first half marathon a year ago. The tough course and heat did not impact on Worf’s performance with her finishing in a pb of 2.03.59.
